Today marks the 43rd anniversary of Roe v Wade, a decision that caused 55 million babies to be aborted, legally. It makes me so sad when I think of those babies, gifts from our heavenly Father, that never were born, never given a chance to speak for themselves, never given a chance to change the world.
Years ago, as a young adult, I never identified myself as being pro-choice, though I lived life that way. But, once I realized the church’s teaching, I clearly changed my way of living. I was never taught the truth and I don’t blame anyone for that, but it is my responsibility to educate, not only my daughters, but my family and loved ones, as well. This, at times, has been very difficult to do, but my love for my loved ones will never change, regardless of our different views.
We are called, as Disciples of Christ, to help others understand the truth and God’s will of each and every human life. Here are a few ways that you can do this:
- Post/Share on facebook, stories about the sanctity of life, at all stages.
- Refrain from supporting corporations who support Planned Parenthood.
- When you read something about pro-life that touches your heart, share it with others.
- Show support for someone who had an abortion and anyone else who was involved in that decision.
- Pray! Pray! Pray!
Pray for those standing up/marching for life.
Pray for those who do not understand the truth.
Pray for the babies in jeopardy of being aborted.
A Respect Life Group has been started at St. Mike’s and today, 7 young ladies are marching for life in St. Paul. I pray that what they experience will touch their hearts and will inspire them to be forever committed to standing up for life! They ARE the Pro-Life generation!
Please take a few minutes and pray for those people in your life that have been affected my abortion.
